Depending on how NBN is delivered to your property and your property’s NBN readiness this will vary from just 1 day to around 3 weeks. You can check your address right here on our website and in most cases we’ll be able to give you an indicative timeframe.
If your property has already been connected to the NBN previous we should be able to get you connected in 1-3 days.
If your property has not been connected to NBN in the past we will likely need an NBN technician to come and activate your service. General time frames for the next available NBN activation appointment is usually between 1 – 3 weeks. We’ll be able to give you a better idea after you order. This is purely dependent on the availability of NBN Co’s technicians to complete your activation and we always request earliest available appointment (unless you request otherwise).
After you order, we should be able to advise you of your activation appointment within 24 hours. You can also set a preferred start date during the checkout process. We can also reschedule an appointment for you if the first one is not suitable or you cannot be in attendance.
The standard modem is the Netcomm NF10WV. It includes Wifi and is perfectly suitable for most homes. You can connect up to 4 devices to it using an ethernet cable plus as many wireless devices as you need.
The upgraded modem offers AC1600 Wifi, which provides wireless broadcast at 2.6Ghz and 5Ghz. This provides faster data transfer between different devices in your home. It also provides a greater range of Wifi meaning it will reach further locations in your home than the standard NBN modem.
If your house is particularly large or you simply want, best possible performance from your home network the upgraded modem (Netcomm NF18ACV) is for you.
You can purchase the upgraded modem when completing your sign up at the check out.
In some instances you will need to request cancellation of your original NBN service when transferring to Tangerine Telecom. This will vary based on the technology used to deliver NBN to your property.
For FTTP and Fixed Wireless connections, we will activate the next available port on the NBN equipment installed inside your property. This means after you are successfully connected with Tangerine you will need to advise your previous provider that you wish to cancel their service.
For HFC, FTTN, FTTB or FTTC connections we will order an NBN transfer. This means that your original service will stop working automatically when your Tangerine service becomes active. You may want to check with your previous provider that they have stopped billing you – but this should occur automatically.
Full information will be provided about your specific service after an order is received.
